Congratulations! You’re pregnant!
Now what?
You want to excitedly share your news with family and friends, but you’re not sure if it’s too early. Or, even worse, you worry that you will get the deluge of information, unsolicited advice and horror stories.[/text_block]
Hoorah for Sarah Buckley! Her strong, authoritative voice is sorely needed…
Ina May Gaskin
You browse pregnancy books and magazines, but find that most are filled to the brim with information on what can go wrong in pregnancy, and all the things you need to do to avoid this. You feel even more worried. You want to simply enjoy your pregnancy, but that’s harder and harder these days….
Well, if you want to enjoy your pregnancy, labour, birth and mothering journey you have come to the right place!
Here at Gentle Natural Birth we focus on:
- Building your confidence in your body’s superb design
- Why doing what feels good can enhance safety and pleasure throughout pregnancy
- The critical questions you should ask when making decisions about you and your baby during pregnancy. (This will really help when you’re filtering advice from well-meaning friends and family, or even talking to a health practitioner)
- How to choose the right care providers for you and your baby
- What you need to know about common pregnancy treatments and tests
- How to really nourish and listen to your body and baby during pregnancy
- How to mentally prepare for your new life once your baby is born
I wrote my best-selling book, Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering to help you with these important but often unspoken aspects of pregnancy and birth.
Now I’m really excited to share with you my new initiative, The Gentle Natural Birth Early Pregnancy Program.
I am a qualified GP/family physician (with qualifications in GP-obstetrics and family planning) and the mother of four children, all gently born and gently raised, now in their teen years and beyond. I currently combine motherhood with my work as a writer and speaker on pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
I want every mother, baby, father and family to have the best possible start! That means being fully informed in decision-making; listening to your heart and intuition; and claiming your rightful role as the real expert on your body, your baby and your family.
I also have a special interest in the hormones of labour and birth, and my groundbreaking report Hormonal Physiology of Childbearing was recently published with Childbirth Connection, a program of the National Partnership for Women and Families.
What this means is that I can help you make the most of you “ecstatic hormones”, so that your body will naturally promote ease, pleasure AND safety from pregnancy right through labour and birth – and with breastfeeding and bonding with your newborn.[/text_block]
Sarah Buckley is precious, because she is bilingual. She can speak the language of a mother who gave birth to her four children at home. She can also speak like a medical doctor…
